Horses and Donkeys
Did you know that the donkey is the nicest animal on the farm? Alongside the Italian Farm Horse, at FICO guests will also meet 3 different breeds of noisy donkeys: the Amiata from Toscana, the Martina Franca from Puglia, and the one from Romagna.
Did you know that the ancient Romans were crazy about geese? In our grandparents’ day, every Italian farmyard or courtyard had a goose roaming around. At FICO we care about tradition... that’s why visitors are given the opportunity to learn about the two most famous breeds: the Romagnola and the Toulouse. Find out which is the bigger!
Did you know that sheep and goat breeding began in the Fertile Crescent around 10,000 B.C.? FICO is home to Bergamasca, Comisana and Sarda breeds of sheep. Follow the flock and don’t let it get away!
